Baybeats is an annual alternative music festival that showcases an eclectic range of folk, rock, pop, metal, post-rock, emo, punk, and electro music by local and regional acts. The biggest of its kind in Southeast Asia, it is a unique experience that brings aficionados of different tastes and personalities together. Also a platform for nurturing homegrown talents, Baybeats actively promotes new local bands in its Auditions programme. Through mentorship by notable industry players, the top eight are given the opportunity to perform alongside seasoned acts and reach out to a wider audience. The successes of the Budding Photographers and recently established Budding Writers programmes also allow aspiring gig photographers and music journalists an avenue to hone their skills.

This year, as Esplanade commemorates its 10th Anniversary, Baybeats likewise celebrates a decade of great independent music, in particular, the friendships that have been built along the way. In this special edition, we reunite with past Baybeats bands. We will renew old bonds, relive the times we broke sweat together, and celebrate our passion for music. Over at the festival village, we also introduce our new Budding Entrepreneur programme for the young and enterprising.
